Lízes Petit Studio stands for unique design that captures the beauty of being a child. Since 2024, I, Carmen Berjón, have been creating clothing with my team in Zurich and Portugal that combines playful lightness with timeless elegance.

Our History

As more and more of my friends became mothers, I was confronted with an unsatisfactory range of children's clothing for my taste. For me, clothing should (1) look great, (2) be made of high-quality materials (especially when it comes to children's clothing) and (3) be produced fairly.

Since, in my experience, at most two of these criteria are met, I decided to launch my own children's clothing line. As a fashion enthusiast, I have discovered a new passion in the creation of my designs.

The Lízes Style: Between Playful and Chic

Lízes Petit Studio is an expression of my background and reflects a mix of styles from my numerous stays in European cities. As the daughter of a Spaniard, I spent a large part of my childhood in Madrid, where I also lived as an adult. The playful, elegant style of neatly dressed girls in Madrid's Retiro Park has always inspired me. I wanted to ‘import’ this style to Switzerland. 

Lízes and Time

As for the name, I derived Lízes from my favourite novel ‘Ulysses’ by James Joyce and ‘adapted’ it to my own background. Just as Ulysses tells the story of a single day in epic breadth, a child's day can be infinitely rich in experiences. 

My designs aim to capture the beauty of being a child – a time when a day feels like an eternity and when children don't associate fashion with the past or the future, but simply wear, experience and feel it.

I live in Zurich and, when I'm not busy with Lízes, I'm working on my doctoral thesis in the field of competition law.
